Product Description
A three-trimester evolutionary crash course to guide the prehistoric papa-to-be through the prenatal, preparental wilderness. Every man should read it! What’s a clueless caveman about to become DAD to do? After all, it’s tough carrying a child for nine months—for him as well as for her. He’s just not sure how to behave. But help is on hand, in the form of a reassuring (and hysterically funny) course for the totally perplexed. Along with a large dose of humor, it provides the father-to-be with all the know-how he needs to become a well-prepared, well-heeled partner who’s really ready to stand upright and embrace his new responsibilities…rather than cowering from them. Every cave-student will find out how to support his mate through this emotional time, cope with his own feelings, deal with baby-related projects, and perform admirably during labor and delivery. So whether it’s catering to his exhausted companion’s needs by preparing a nutritional and tasty meal or engaging in a snuggle session when she craves a little cuddling, with the help of this book a guy will become the proud Cro-Magnon caregiver he longs to be!

Hopefully you or your daddy to be isn't a true "Gronk". This book is very humorous for my wife and I to read and gives good insight for us cavemen into the world of pregnancy and how to be more supportive and understanding to share in the pregnancy. Highly recommended. Great gift!

Treats men like idiots

I was given this book as a gift and was so turned off by the overuse of caveman analogies, I couldn't finish it.
I think this book does more harm than good by re-enforcing negative stereotypes about men being uninvolved spouses and fathers. I understand the purpose of the book is about trying to "evolve" unenlightened men, but I am not one of their numbers.
I tried to have a sense of humor about it and felt I gave the book a fair shot, but when the first handful of chapters are all about trying to impart some kind of wisdom or sense of responsiblity unto the father-to-be, you feel like you're being talked down to. It's not funny, it's not insightful, it's a whisper-thin concept a couple of bozos tried to hang a parenting book from.
If you look at a lot of the positive reviews, they are written by women who bought the book for their spouses and boyfriends. Of course THEY think it's great. They're keeping their men like pets. An intelligent man wouldn't put up with this garbage.

I bought this for my spouse, as he's expecting his first, but he's not much of a "reader", so he can't comment on it. I found this book to be a good read - very comical. It offers great tips for the expectant father, with a large dose of humour.

I got this book for my boyfriend. We're expecting our first child in September. I really love the format. I think it's the first baby book he has read all the way through. I highly reccommend this book!

I bought this book for my husband and started reading it before him. I got about 1/4 through before he started and I had to stop. He reads a little bit before bed each night and seems to really be enjoying it. It's an easy, fun read but has a lot of good information. I think it has put his mind at ease with a lot of things as far as becoming a new dad. Plus, he's already used a couple massage techniques the book teaches and he has dog eared a few recipes he wants to try out. That's all I can hope for while I'm aching and immobile! :) I definitely recommend this book for new dads to be!
