Another Excellent Keller Novel By The Master

Lawrence Block has written another excellent Keller novel. If you read and liked the first three Keller novels in the series than you will enjoy this one as well. If you haven't read the other Keller novels, you may want to start at the begining with Hitman, although you could read this as a stand alone book.
This novel has some interesting twists and turns, so I don't give away part of the book I won't mention details but can say that the reading will be familiar to Keller/Block fans without being a copy of the first three novels. New ground is covered and Lawrence Block has given us fresh material.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

The only thing that kept me reading this book was to see if it actually got better. It didn't. Even in the last chapter, I'm thinking there must be some major twist to make this book some what interesting. Again, there was not. Be warned this book is slow and uninteresting.

Lawrence Block is one of my favorite writers. And I greatly enjoyed his previous John Keller stories and books. For instance, I have read "Hit Man" twice already. And I will read it again. Block's latest Keller novel, "Hit and Run", however, has been a huge disappointment for me. It's very slow, overlong, and somewhat repetitive. A few years back, Block would have wrapped exactly the same plot into a sharp, witty short story. In fact, that's what it seems to me: An average short story blown up to novel size. I'd say Block was right when he said that he may be "turning into a wordy old bastard" (Lawrence Block, foreword of "Enough Rope").

The latest in a nice series

The second " Keller " novel I've read; looking forward to completing the series. Keller is an interesting hit man who is resourceful and likable even though his profession is killing people. Nice resolution to this novel; interesting minor characters. Very readable.
