I don't actually have a review of the movie yet, but I do have a complaint about the lack of description details in language format. I need to view this movie for a school project so I ordered it, but it came in Spanish with no subtitles so i sent it back and am getting the run around on purchasing the correct one. Why isn't the language disclosed in the description so people like me who do NOT speak Spanish will know NOT TO BUY!!!!!

Pedro Infante received posthumously the coveted Silver Bear for Best Actor in 1957 with this towering performance. Ismael Rodriguez made one of his best artistic achievements with this peculiar portrait. Pedro Infante plays a fascinating role as the last exponent of a tribe in ways of extinction. He lives out of the town, outdoors when suddenly falls in love with w beautiful woman (Maria Felix) who reminds him so much to the Virgin. So in his syncretism, he blends spiritual beliefs with terrene love, so that dramatic premise will arouse all kind of bitter comments and will constitute the crucial facing with her ancient fiancée.
But there will be a very smart twist of fate that will surprise you. A fantastic mythical flight will surround this singular love story.

Although this is a great movie, the DVD print is of poor quality. I was greatly disappointed after a three week wait to find such a fine work of art treated in this manner. I had great expectations of seeing this film in its original theatrical widescreen format of the time. (Cinemascope) Instead, it is presented in a pan and scan format which looks like it was burned right off of a cheap video tape. Efforts to contact the distributor were to no avail as their site doesn't exist. That in itself tells it all. Advise, don't waist your time on this item. This kind of quality can be found at your local latino swapmeet.
