Bob Childers is THE man at the foundation of Red Dirt Music. It's pretty much impossible to find a dirt band in Texas or Oklahoma that hasn't recorded a cover of Bob's or claimed him as a mentor. His songs are perhaps most easily described as "Dylanesque," but are much earthier. It's hard to miss and even harder to forget the warmth of Childers' smile or the "seen it all" look in his eyes. That same warmth and experience comes through soulfully when you hear his words crooned in his own voice. If ever there was music for sitting under a tree with a cold brew and watching the sun set over the prairie, then this is it.
