Album Description
Get ready for Hick-Hop Muzik, rap meets country, with a very different short of posse. It's country of a different color from Cowboy Troy, who burst onto the scene with the rap in "Rollin'" from Big & Rich's multiplatinum Horse Of A Different Color and was a sensation performing on last year's Tim McGraw tour and "New Year's Rockin' Eve." Now MuzikMafia godfathers Big & Rich launch the major label debut of Cowboy Troy, the world's only black country rapper.

When Tim McGraw and Big & Rich toured together in 2004, their special guest rapper all but stole the show. With his full-length CD debut, Cowboy Troy returns to build a bridge between country and hip-hop through a fusion that he dubs "hick-hop." Produced by Big & Rich, who collaborated on much of the material with Texan Troy Coleman, the raps bring down-home humor to uptown rhyming, as fiddle, banjo, and steel guitar punctuate the beat. While "I Play Chicken with the Train" and "My Last Yeehaw," both with Big & Rich, might generate some novelty airplay, Troy shows more reflective depth on a spoken-word ballad, "If You Don't Love Me," and a spiritual dimension on "Somebody's Smilin' on Me," with chorus harmonies by McGraw and Big Kenny. "El Tejano" includes a Spanish-language interlude, while "Beast on the Mic" has a Japanese hook. With the closing "Wrap Around the World," Troy celebrates hip-hop as the universal language, with the world of country music no longer an exception. --Don McLeese

This is sad

Man, this is sad. A rapping cowboy, are you for real? Seriously Troy, you sound like a cross between Sir Mix A-Lot and Vanilla Ice. Buddy, give it up, this album is total garbage. I listened to the first clip and could barely contain my laughter. It's sad that there are people out there who 1, actually bought this and 2, actually ENJOYED listening to it!

Hip Hop Rap Pushing in on Country No Way

Calling yourself Cowboy doesn't make it Country!
This fool is too lame for the MTV's, or BET's rap hip hop scene, so he thinks he can push his music off on Country fans. This CD is in the wrong category if you a country fan don't be fooled. This CD is hip hop rap. Young night clubbers hate his music or else he'd be on the rap charts. People buy Country to stay clear of rap.
If he had a nice voice, and actually sang country music I would might enjoy his music.
He obviously isn't talented enough to make it in the rap world, so Country is his gimic, to be famous for being the only Country rapper. Okay, someone needs to tell him Country and rap are opposites!

Took me by surprise.....I love it

I first heard one of Cowboy Troy's songs on Cirrus radio and could not help myself; I just got up and started moving to the music. Oh, by the way, I am a 46 year old white woman who lives in the deep south and I have loved country music all of my life. I feel as though his style is helping to move country music into the new millennium and I hope I get a chance to see him in concert...Great Find Big and Rich...Keep it up !!!

Awesome CD - Unfair Reviews

Cowboy Troy has a wonderful CD collaboration and I think it's unfair that there are so many negative reviews. All of his songs are extremely creative and worthwhile to listen to. His music is very addictive and upbeat and exciting, and he's even better in concert. So if you ever get a chance to see him in concert, go!
I also don't think it's fair to say that a bunch of white people wrote bad reviews because how do you even know? I'm white and I love Cowboy Troy. What does race have to do with if someone likes his music or not? Not cool - you should be ashamed of yourself!

CBT breaks the model of country music

CBT is a well deserving artist! I'm a southerner by the grace of GOD along with CBT. Country music runs in our vains. Why all the bad feedback? CBT is doing more with what he loves (country and rap) then half of us. When I'm on the Deere mowin' I want to listen to up beat country and what does CBT provide? Upbeat country. Not only does he reach country fans but also rap and spanish fans. Also to the guy the dissed his first album. Have you gone to the CMA's or sang with Tim McGraw? CBT and the Muzic Mafia is going to be the next big thing! So if you dont like it listen to elevator music and stop being a foney country fan! Grow up, color and fusion of diffrent music is not a problem any more. It has been around for years. IF YOU ARE TRUE COUNTRY FAN PICK UP THIS CD! ITS WELL WORTH THE EXPENSE! CBT KEEP PLAYIN CHICKEN WITH THE TRAIN. LIKE TIM MCGRAW I LIKE THE CHANGE ALSO! BUY THIS CD!
