A guitarist for all seasons Rating (5) Date: 2008-06-28 I have been listening to Mr Dowdle's three commercial jazz albums (Touch, From The Hip, Soulmate) since each came out. He is a virtuoso guitar player capable of executing anything he imagines; electric, acoustic or classical. However, he is also a gifted composer and arranger and I find his music just as fresh and listenable today as it was back in 1991 when Touch first came out. I too am a guitar player and can only hope some of his tasteful craftmanship rubs off on me as I listen and learn his performances. These are a must have for any jazz-oriented guitarist, a recommended best buy for any avid listener of the genre.

He is a phenomenal guitarist, comfortabble in a full spectrun from Jazz chops to smoking Shred guitar. This guy is a secret GEM in the guitar world. Not only is he technically proficient but his secret lies in WHAT notes he plays as well as HOW MANY NOTES he can play. I thoroughly recommend "SOULMATE" to any guitarist and Jazz enthusiast!!!
