I had bought this CD years ago when it first came out , played it a couple of times and kind of just forgot about it, well the other day I pulled it out to give it another listen and this CD Rocks! It aged well over the years, the music sounds big and loud and very melodic, just an all around well made CD.

One of their best

This is one of their best cd's and heaviest. It has some relly excellent tracks on it like gimme the beat, can't stop the rain and the ballad sail on by. It is a lot like earthshaker so I suppose if you prefer Meanstreak then maybe this cd isn't for you.

Too metallic for my taste

On the one hand, it looks as Y&T try to sound like Metallica, but on the other hand they wanna recreate the past. You might think they've developed musically, bringing the old formula into a modern age - isn't that good? Well, I tend to say yes and no. When Y&T blast away in the metallic and heavy "Black gold" you can't escape the feeling that this song would be better suited for Metallica (on their black album). Dave Meniketti's voice doesn't really work when the band try to play the heaviest stuff - he's not brutal enough. The guitar sound on this release is far more metallic than it has been on earlier albums, and personally I'd prefer a smoother/softer sound. Songs like "Sumthin 4 nuth'n" and "Can't stop the rain" have that modern metallic approach that I think some people would call up to date. But there's also connections to the earlier Y&T, especially in "Still falling" which obviously is an attempt to write another "Forever" ("Black tiger" album). In "I wanna cry", there's an interesting blend of jazz (the verse) and heavy metal (the chorus), but the highlight is clearly when the band keep their old direction, shown in (the mentioned) "Still falling" and "Try to believe". For long time fans of Y&T, "Endangered species" might be too metallic, but I believe that when you get past the first impression - this album is alright.

Great CD

As a Y&T fan for many years, I think this album kicks a**. I had the fortune of seeing them many years ago with Motley Crue. They have not lost their touch, they only get better. If all their new music sounded just like the old, you would have the reason that heavy metal died in the 80's.I suggest you listen to Dave's solo album, it is great.

Y&T IS STILL ROCKIN

THIS CD IS NOT LIKE THE OLD Y&T CD'S. IT IS JUST FOUR GUY'S DOING A LOT OF JAMMING. I WANNA CRY IS THE BEST SONG WITH A GREAT BASS LINE AND GREAT LEAD GUITAR. SAIL ON BY IS A STRONG POWER BALLAD, WHILE STILL FALLIN GIVE'S TASTE OF THE OLD Y&T STUFF. THERE ARE A FEW MORE GOOD SONGS ON THE CD(MORE GOOD THAN BAD) IF YOU WERE A y&T FAN OF THE PAST YOU WILL ENJOY. I DO NOT THINK THEY WILL WIN TO MANY NEW FANS WITH THIS ONE. BUT, I LIKED IT.
