I watched this video to preview it before listing it for sale, and I was really surprised to find that I completely enjoyed it! I am not a drummer or a musician. This video is well-produced and very creative using a mix of color and black and white film technology reminiscent of PLEASANTVILLE. The music is very enjoyable and the demonstration performances are fun to watch. Dave Weill is pleasant, professional, helpful, and engaging. I thought it was very thoughtful and responsible of him to include information on hearing protection while practicing and the unusual topic of one-handed practice (in case of a hand injury.) I found it very interesting to see exactly how the drums are played. I had no idea so much coordination and precision were involved. I think this would be an excellent video for an aspiring drummer to have to get off on the right foot to become a "team player" in the band and to become a trusted and versatile drummer. This video was a pleasant surprise to me, and I think any drummer would enjoy it and any parent or concerned adult could feel confident in presenting it as a gift to a young drummer.

It's no wonder why Dave is successful as he is. But, what sets him apart is his willingness to share his vast encyclopedia of knowledge on the drums. Here he covers various methods in which to practice such as double-bass triplet exercises, swiss-triplets (which before this video, I never new existed!!) and many other techniques to assist you in really focusing in on technique AND feel. I highly recommend this video.
